The Pines Primary Equality Objectives (2026–2028)

At The Pines Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child is supported to achieve their full potential through high-quality teaching, strong pastoral care and an inclusive learning environment where all children can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Our school community is underpinned by our six core values – the 6 C’s: Character, Citizenship, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity and Critical Thinking. These values shape our relationships, learning and behaviour every day and help our children become confident, respectful, resilient and thoughtful members of society.

Equality Objectives (2026–2028)

At The Pines Primary School, we have the highest expectations for all pupils. We firmly believe that every child can succeed and make strong progress regardless of background, ability or circumstance. We are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all members of our school community.

  1. To promote high achievement and progress for all pupils

We believe that all learners are of equal value and therefore expect boys and girls, disadvantaged pupils, pupils with SEND, and pupils from all ethnic, cultural, religious and social backgrounds to achieve highly and make excellent progress.

We are committed to:

  • Raising standards and outcomes for all pupils
  • Closing attainment gaps for vulnerable groups, including pupils eligible for Pupil Premium funding
  • Providing appropriate support and challenge to enable every child to reach their potential

Through our values of Character and Critical Thinking, we encourage resilience, independence and a growth mindset so that all pupils are empowered to succeed.

  1. To foster an inclusive school community where everyone feels valued and respected

We are committed to creating a school culture where all members of the community feel safe, welcomed and included, regardless of disability, ethnicity, culture, religion, gender identity or family background.

Through our curriculum, assemblies, RHSE provision, OPAL Playtimes and wider enrichment opportunities, we actively promote equality, diversity and inclusion. Our values of Citizenship, Collaboration and Communication help children develop empathy, respect and understanding of others and encourage positive relationships across our diverse school community.

  1. To identify and remove barriers to learning and participation

We recognise that improving outcomes for our most vulnerable learners strengthens outcomes across the whole school. In support of this, we rigorously monitor the progress, attendance and wellbeing of all pupils, including vulnerable groups, to ensure that barriers to learning are identified early and appropriate support is put in place.

Through Creativity and inclusive teaching approaches, we aim to provide engaging and accessible learning experiences that enable every child to participate fully in school life and achieve success both within and beyond the classroom.

At The Pines, we are proud of our inclusive ethos and remain committed to creating a school where every child feels welcomed, supported and empowered to succeed.
