At The Pines Primary School, the wellbeing of our pupils, staff and wider school community is incredibly important to us. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, happy, valued and supported, and we are committed to creating a warm, nurturing environment where everyone can thrive both academically and personally.

Our approach to wellbeing is closely linked to our school values – the 6 C’s: Character, Citizenship, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity and Critical Thinking. These values are at the heart of school life and help our children develop confidence, resilience, kindness and respect for others.

We are proud that our Trust KS2 Wellbeing Survey (December 2025) showed that pupils demonstrate a generally high level of happiness, reflecting the caring and positive environment we work hard to create every day.

At The Pines, we promote wellbeing through:

· A strong culture of kindness, inclusion and respect

· Positive relationships between pupils, staff and families

· A broad and engaging curriculum that supports personal development

· High-quality PSHE and RHSE education

· OPAL play opportunities

· Opportunities for pupil voice and leadership

· Support for emotional health and mental wellbeing

· Encouraging healthy lifestyles, physical activity and mindfulness

· Celebrating individuality, achievement and diversity

Through the 6 C’s, we encourage our pupils to:

· Build strong Character through resilience, confidence and perseverance

· Show positive Citizenship by caring for others and contributing to the community

· Work together through Collaboration

· Express themselves clearly and respectfully through Communication

· Explore ideas and talents through Creativity

· Reflect thoughtfully and solve problems through Critical Thinking

We know that wellbeing is essential for children to feel confident, successful and ready to learn. By working closely with families and the wider community, we aim to ensure that every child feels welcomed, cared for and able to achieve their full potential.

If you are ever concerned about your own wellbeing, your child’s wellbeing or your family’s wellbeing, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are always here to listen, offer support and work together with you in any way we can.
