Children may bring a healthy packed lunch to eat in our dining hall, clearly marked with the child’s name, alternatively a hot lunch can be ordered with the catering provider, Innovate (see below).

KS1 children are provided with a healthy snack (Fruit or Vegetables) at break time, children in KS2 may bring in a piece of fruit for break time.

Please note that we are a nut free school. This includes items such as Hazelnut spread and Pesto.

Hello! From Your School’s Caterer

We believe great food fuels great learning. Our primary school meals are fresh, tasty, and nutritious, designed for growing bodies and curious minds.

Meals are freshly prepared on site by our friendly catering team, using quality ingredients you can trust. Our menu is carefully planned to meet School Food Standards, while still being meals children genuinely enjoy.

What’s on the Menu?

The menu rotates on a three-week cycle, keeping lunchtimes fresh, exciting, and full of variety. Every school day offers a balanced mix of choice, nutrition, and great taste.

Hot Main Meals

Children can choose from two freshly cooked hot meals every day, packed with flavour and the nutrients needed to support energy, focus, and healthy growth. At least one option is always vegetarian, encouraging more plant-based choices.

Jacket Potatoes & Filled Rolls

Alongside the hot main meal options, children can also enjoy a jacket potato with tasty toppings such as tuna mayonnaise, beans, or cheese. We also offer filled rolls with popular fillings like ham, cheese, tuna, and chicken.

Unlimited Salad Bar & Fresh Bread

Children can help themselves to our colourful salad bar, filled with fresh vegetables for extra vitamins and minerals. Fresh bread is also available daily.

Dessert

Every mealtime includes a dessert – from fruit and yoghurt to hot puddings, made with fruit (and sometimes vegetables) for extra goodness.

Nutrition You Can Trust

The menus are created by experienced chefs and nutritionists. Each day you can expect to see:

· A variety of fresh fruits and vegetables

· Added wholegrains for steady energy and focus

· High-quality protein to support growing bodies

Look out for the Nutritionist’s Choice icon on our menus – these standout dishes are selected by our nutritionists for their extra nutritional benefits, typically packed with plants, fibre, wholegrains, beans, and pulses to fuel learning.

Inclusive & Allergen Aware

We want every child to enjoy lunchtime with confidence. That’s why allergen safety is a top priority in everything we do.

Our Allergen Aware Menu is specially designed for children with allergies to gluten, dairy and soya, without compromising on taste or nutrition.

To keep children safe every day, we have clear and robust procedures in place, including:

· Allergen Buddies – trained members of staff who can confidently provide clear allergen information. They’re easy to spot in their purple hats and aprons.

· Allergen matrices – available at service points to clearly display allergen information.

· Strict kitchen procedures – carefully designed to minimise the risk of cross-contamination.

· No nut products – we do not use products that contain nuts as an ingredient.

With trained teams, clear information, and carefully planned menus, we make sure every child can enjoy lunch safely, happily, and without worry.

School Meals Are Free in Reception, Year 1 & Year 2

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 can enjoy a free hot school lunch every day – regardless of circumstances.

If your child is in Year 3 or above, you may also be eligible. It only takes a few minutes to check, and families could save over £500 a year per child – while also supporting their school. Apply at: www.gov.uk/apply-free-school-meals

Why Choose School Meals?

· Better value – a hot meal, salad, bread, and dessert often costs less than a packed lunch

· Great nutrition – school meals provide great veg, fibre, and protein

· Time-saving – no planning or packing

· Hassle-free – one less thing to think about

Theme Days, Tastings & Food Fun

Throughout the year, we run exciting theme days and activities to make food fun and educational. These experiences help children explore new foods, cultures, and flavours.

Smart, Sustainable Choices

We’re committed to looking after the planet as well as your child. Sustainability is built into everything we do, from ingredient sourcing to how we run our kitchens.

We use ingredients creatively – even cauliflower leaves and stalks – to reduce food waste while keeping meals delicious and nutritious.

We also prioritise responsible, sustainability-conscious sourcing, including:

· MSC-certified fish for Fish & Chip Fridays

· RSPCA-assured free-range eggs

· Red Tractor milk from British dairy farms

· Baking potatoes sourced from UK farms

· Fairtrade cocoa and Rainforest Alliance coffee – all selected to support ethical farming and high welfare standards

Through our Impact+ approach, we continue to innovate for a healthier planet by increasing fibre and reducing sugar across menus, expanding locally sourced ingredients, and minimising waste and carbon emissions wherever possible – making our food nutritious for children and better for the environment.
